Job Ready Programme
What is the Job Ready Programme?
This programme is designed to help young people get into jobs, giving you the soft skills needed to prepare you for the world of work. Every participant on the programme is helped to develop their communication, CV writing, and interview skills, IT skills and basic literacy skills. You will be helped into work placement opportunities and possibilities for securing available job opportunities.
Who is it for?
This programme is targeted at NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people aged between 16 – 25 years old across London.
Who is involved?
This programme is run in partnership with Lehman Brothers Investment, Carnary Wharf. Staff of Lehman Brothers help with tutoring and mentoring and provide opportunities for you to visit their offices to see what they do first hand. Professional external trainers are also involved in delivering certain aspects of the programme.
How does it run?
The programme will run for 9 weeks, with a 2 week work placement in weeks 7 and 8. There will be a presentation of certificates and a celebration in week 9. Sessions will be in the form of workshops, role plays, team challenges and a host of other interactive methods. After the program, there will be ongoing support available to help you find a job or go through an appropriate training opportunity for upwards of 6 months to a year.
What will I get out of it?
You will develop life skills that will prepare you for getting and keeping a job. This programme will improve the way you communicate with others (employers and colleagues), teach you how to write a CV, prepare you for interviews, equip you with IT skills and much more. You will also have a 2 week work placement, opportunities for getting a job and benefit from the experience of professionals.
